The walk starts on the wide asphalt trail directly across from the Lake Newport Rd entrance to the North Point Village Center.

The path ends at another wide asphalt trail. Turn left.

The trail continues up a hill through the woods. A bench will be seen on the left almost immediately.

The trail intersects with Bennington Woods Rd. Turn right onto the wide asphalt trail.

At this point a choice must be made between the short route (2.8 miles) or the extended route (3.0 miles).
