Driving directions

Driving directions to Cabin John Regional Park Playground section:

From northbound I-495 (inner loop of the beltway from Tysons Corner)

Exit onto I-270 (Spur) after the River Road interchange. The left lanes lead to I-270. On I-270 take the right lane and leave I-270 at the first exit (Democracy Boulevard) and turn left to take Democracy Blvd. west past Montgomery Mall. Turn right at the first traffic light after Montgomery Mall (there are service stations on the corner) to go north on Westlake Drive. After passing the first traffic signal at Westlake Terrace notice the entrance to the Cabin John Regional Park athletic area on your left (marked as entrance number 3 on the park maps). Continue past that entrance and notice an entrance to the playground section of the park on your left (marked as entrance number 2 on the park maps). This parking lot is the furthest from the playground section so you may want to go to the end of the road at Tuckerman Lane and turn left at the traffic light. The entrance to the playground area is on your left and is marked as entrance number 1 on the park maps.

From westbound I-495 (the outer loop coming from Silver Spring)

After passing the Connecticut Avenue interchange take the I-270 exit. Note that the exit for Rockville Pike is at the same location using the far right lane of the beltway. Leave I-270 at the first exit and go north about .3 miles to the traffic signal at Tuckerman Lane. Turn left to go west on Tuckerman Lane and drive 1.3 miles to the park playground entrance. Tuckerman Lane will pass under I-270 and the park entrance will be on the left just past the traffic signal for Westlake Drive.

From southbound I-270

After passing the Montrose Avenue interchange take the section of I-270 to the east headed towards Silver Spring. Take the exit for Old Georgetown Road and go north on that road about .3 miles to the traffic signal at Tuckerman Lane. Turn left to go west on Tuckerman Lane and drive 1.3 miles to the park playground entrance. Tuckerman Lane will pass under I-270 and the park entrance will be on the left just past the traffic signal for Westlake Drive.
